Rainbow runner are slender offshore jacks with blue and yellow side stripes. They may accompany floating structure and take casting lures or jigs in midwater.

名前にブリと付くがブリ属ではなく、細い体と青・黄の横線が特徴。シイラ狙いの浮遊物周りや沖の潮目で出会い、素早い横走りを見せる。
高速で走る魚を手で止めない。船上ではルアーを外すまで針先を周囲へ向けない。
