Caranx sexfasciatus
Bigeye trevally have a conspicuous eye and a small dark mark high on the gill cover. Juveniles are popular mekki targets; adult schools in southern waters require much stronger tackle.

大きな眼とえらぶたの黒斑が手掛かりのアジ。幼魚は本州のメッキ釣りでも出会い、成魚は南の海で群れを作る。ロウニンアジの幼魚などと混同しやすく、銀色だけで判断しない。
尾柄の硬い稜鱗で手を切らないよう魚ばさみを使う。南方の大型魚の食用判断は産地情報を確認。
