右側に目が集まる厚みのあるカレイ。胸びれの上で側線が高く湾曲し、尾びれの後端に白っぽい縁があります。クロガレイと混同しやすいため複数の特徴で確認します。

厳しい寒さや岸壁の凍結時は無理をしません。投げ竿を複数出す場合も人の通り道をふさがず、周囲の糸と交差させないようにします。
