Octopus jig fishing

Bottom jigs are moved a short distance to attract an octopus. Local fishing rights and the boat’s rules must be checked first.
Tackle and preparation
Dedicated tackle, prescribed sinker and permitted octopus jigs. Do not assume shore collection is allowed.
On the water
- Keep contact with bottom without dragging long distances.
- Shake gently and pause.
- Build pressure when weight develops, then retrieve steadily.
