カゴ釣り
A floating rig carries a groundbait basket and baited hook to the same feeding depth offshore. It is different from a multi-hook sabiki rig: the hook bait drifts with the bait released from the basket.
Tackle and preparation
A casting float rod rated for the combined basket, bait and sinker weight; a matched float, reel, leader and single-hook trace. Groundbait and casting must be allowed at the site.
On the water
- Check permission and clear the casting area behind and around you.
- Set the float depth and fill the basket lightly.
- Cast to a repeatable position without exceeding the rod’s rating.
- Control slack and let the hook bait drift through the released bait.
- When the float gives a positive indication, lift into the fish and land it with a net.
