Tackle and preparation
Use the boat’s jig-weight and dropper rules, with a sensitive rod and depth-marked line or reel.
On the water
- Drop to the instructed layer.
- Lift, then hold still.
- Record the productive depth and whether bites occur during the pause or fall.
